
The combined degree program in Visual Arts and Computer Science is for those who intend to work with technology and painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital media or video.
The combined degree program includes the essential courses for both a Visual Arts and Computer Science degree. Visual Arts courses include studio foundation, drawing, art theory, video art, painting, scultpure, photography, digital media arts, digital media installation and curatorial direction. Computer Science courses include programming techniques and languages, algorithms, data structures, digital logic and computer organization, architecture, assembly language, operating systems, database systems, object-oriented software development and human-computer interaction.
Enrollment in this program is limited. Students will be admitted to the program at the end of first year.
Students in this program work towards a Bachelor of either Fine Arts or Science as a Combined Major in Music and Computer Science.
Although students are considered to be equally part of both Computer Science and Visual Arts, the "home" department for students in this Combined Program will be the Visual Arts Department, Faculty of Fine Arts.
Students in this program are able to access co-op placements from both the Humanities, Fine Arts and Professional Writing Co-op and the Faculty of Engineering.
