DJArts Games was founded in 2008 in by David Whittaker (MSc, 2009) and Justin Stocks (BSc, 2009) to handle the business side of their casual Facebook game, Egg Breaker. Building on the success of that application, David and Justin are working to expand their casual offerings with new games, new platforms, and more social gaming.

David's Master's research at UVic focused on real-time hardware accelerated graphics, educational games and game programming for teaching computer science. David has a background in graphics, game programming, 3D animation, web programming and database systems.

Justin focused his computer science skills in Software Engineering and AI. Justin has a background in game programming, web programming and database systems and has a passion for game design and game development.

When asked how thier experience at UVic helped prepare for success, David said that both he and Justin participated in the Co-op program where they learned skills that they apply everyday to the work they do. The masters program was also very valuable, it provided project management experience as David's supervisor, Bruce Gooch, ran many undergraduate projects that David supervised. Grad school also provided experience speaking to groups and provided the free time to work on the projects that eventually lead to Egg Breaker and DJArts' success on Facebook.
