What Is The CSCU?

The Computer Science Course Union is a small student body that provides representation to the Faculty of Engineering and UVic on behalf of the students in Computer Science. Additionally, the CSCU organizes targeted events and assistance to its members; who comprise of any student currently taking a Computer Science course.

Events

Events organized by the CSCU include:

  • Free movie showings for those who love movies
  • LAN parties for those who love to game
  • Workshops for those who want to hone their skills
  • Various social events throughout the year

Assistance

The CSCU provides assistance in many forms:

  • Sample finals for various courses posted on the CSCU website
  • A library of textbooks for student use in the CSCU office (ECS 331)
  • The CSCU website maintains a list of tutors for various courses

Services

  • Dispute resolution between students and the Department of Computer Science
  • Locker management and registration in ECS
  • A newsletter called “Hello World” is published monthly by the CSCU detailing upcoming events and announcements. Pick up your copy of “Hello World” everywhere in ECS and ELW
